Senior Adults
Our Senior Adult Ministry program focuses on fellowship and learning to keep our seniors connected with God, our church community and the world. This program offers opportunities for fun, networking, education, and interacting with other generations.
We have had field trips to places of interest such as the Galindo House, Bancroft Gardens and Apple Hill.
Several years ago a group of 13 traveled to China on a trip led by T.J. and Quin Cheng. This group still gets together regularly to enjoy a (Chinese) lunch or a different ethnic dinner and attend musical programs and plays.
We have Lunch and Learn with speakers on a variety of interesting informative subjects and travelogues.
Because of Covid 19, some of our activities are temporarily on hold or held on Zoom.
We meet on the 4th Saturday of the month via Zoom for a Book Group which is enjoyed by several. We discuss different genres of books, determined 2 months at a time by the group.
We have loved the craft opportunities presented to us by Kendall Morrison and Donna Darden when we met in the Discovery Room on the 1st and 3rd Saturday morning at 10am. We look forward to returning to this.
Tai Chi is led by T.J. Cheng. We look forward to returning to do this together, but until then T.J. has provided us with tutorial videos.
We have a walking group which meets every Tuesday at 9:30am — often starting from the church, but occasionally starting from other locations. If you’d like to join us, please contact the church office to find out where to meet us.
Plans are in the making for other activities and we always welcome suggestions.
If you have any questions or would like more information, contact our director of Senior Adult Ministry, Ellie McDougal.
